On #MemorialMonday we want to honor the South Carolina dogs that have passed away.
Bree came up on the first transfer she was scared to death, filthy and flea infested. After a short stay at the vet’s office we had a foster home to send this girl to and help her mental healing. Her foster family welcomed her into their home and the other dogs in the house started helping Bree learn everything she needed to know.
Many of these dogs have scavenging habits and Bree would challenge her foster mom with finding socks, paper towels and anything else around the house she could put in her mouth. Bree was also a master at escaping out of a cage, which is another trait that many of these dogs have. But as the weeks went out her foster mom would tell us ” Bree has started to be a sassy protester. She is definitely independent, as long as she knows you are near. I love watching her personality unfold, I just wish she was ready to cuddle and play with me.”
Bree did learn that cuddling was good. However, at the end of November Bree passed away. It was sudden and unexpected. She left a hole in so many of our volunteers hearts and will never be forgotten.
We love and miss you Bree 🌈❤️
