Mellow is a 3 year old girl that arrived at a very critical stage, diagnosed heartworm positive that had advanced to Stage 3. She has finally completed her treatments and came through it like a champ! Now that she is feeling better, we are really starting to see her wonderful personality coming out.
True to her name, Mellow is a very chill girl. She's housebroken and does not need to be crated. Mellow loves to go for walk and is okay on leash. She can be a little protective of her person when she's on leash, but can be easily re-directed. She is a little bit shy with men at first, but warms up quickly. She is good with kids.
Mellow gets along with other dogs of all sizes and walks away from conflict, however she does prefer older, laid back dogs (male or female), so no energetic playmates for her. No cats, though. She does need a fence to keep her safe at play, but an invisible fence would be acceptable. Mellow charmed the anchors and camera crew on WKYC’s Facebook Live and took it all in stride.

Winnie had been on the country roads of South Carolina for awhile where she survived without the help of humans. Hence she needed to be trapped to catch her.
Once Winnie was at the shelter a blood test showed her to not only be Heartworm Positive but also pregnant and with months and months of care she would need the shelter had her scheduled to be euthanized. So we received a call from the shelter asking if we could help and we did.
Winnie was no more trusting of humans when we got her, but with two months of time spent with a foster while Winnie birthed and nursed her babies a trust started to build with humans.
After Winnie's babies were adopted out she was moved to another foster home with the hope that surrounding her with other dogs would help to grow her trust in humans where she could start relaxing and just enjoy being a dog again versus a survivialist. Another couple months started with spay and treatment for heartworm and continued growth to becoming a dog again.
Today she is a happy and content dog. If you are interested in adopting Winnie or any of our other available dogs please go to www.dudobes.org
Pumpkin was surrendered to a shelter in the south. Shelter life was not a good fit for this little girl, so she made her way to Doberman Underground.
Pumpkin is a 6 months old, Doberman/German Pinscher mix. She gets along well with cats and dogs of all sizes. She will do well with another pet in the house to show her the ropes. Kids would be overwhelming for her. We recommend a quiet, calm household where she can gain the confidence she needs to thrive.
We don't know her story, but this sweet girl is afraid of her own shadow. It took several days and lots of patience for her to acclimate to her foster home. She is currently taking an inexpensive medicine, Prozac, which is helping her be less fearful. This super sweet girl needs a lot of time to adjust to new things. At first she will hide all the time, then she will choose her person and want to be with them all the time, laying on their lap under a blanket.
Pumpkin loves to run and play outside. She is super fast, so she'll need a fenced yard to keep her safe. Inside she is quite the escape artist and despite her petite 22 pound size she will bust out of her crate!
Pumpkin is ready for her forever home, where she can feel safe and loved. Is it yours? Apply today! www.DUdobes.org
