🐾 #Pupdate Alert! 🐾

We're thrilled to share an update on our little explorers, Ferdinand and Magellan! Just a couple of weeks ago, these precious pups arrived at our rescue, barely clinging to life after being the sole survivors of a litter of 11.

Dehydrated, malnourished, and lethargic, their future seemed uncertain. But thanks to the power of good food, love, and the support of their canine siblings, Ferdinand and Magellan are now on the road to recovery and thriving!

Their transformation is nothing short of miraculous. With each passing day, they're gaining strength, motor skills, and a newfound zest for life. While they still need a bit more time before they're ready to find their forever homes, we couldn't wait to share their progress with you.

Stay tuned for more updates as Ferdinand and Magellan continue their journey towards a bright and beautiful future. Thank you for your unwavering support and love! 🌟🏡 #Pupdate #RescuePuppies #MiracleSurvivors

04/23/24 update: Both puppies got there boosters and their weight has gone from 4lbs to 18lbs!!!! And now 11 weeks old

"🔍🕶️ Its #Sweetbeginnigs in an Adoption Success Story 🐾🎉

Shaken, not stirred by his journey, Bond, our suave foster boy, found his 'license to love' in a forever home that's as enduring as a timeless martini. From being misunderstood to becoming the star of his own show, Bond has found his leading lady and his forever 'goldeneye'. With each wag of his butt, he's rewriting the script, stealing hearts faster than a high-speed chase.

In the words of Bond himself, 'The world is not enough' when it comes to the love he's received. Now, snug in his new domain, Bond's only mission is to spread joy and affection wherever he goes.

Thank you to all our supporters who helped pen this happy ending. For those ready to embark on their own rescue mission, visit www.dudobes.org and start penning your own '007' adventure today! 🏡❤️ #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #DobermanLove #WelcomeHomeBond"

We think we can all agree that Dobermans are amazing dogs. In honor of "National Devil Dog" day, we just wanted to share some history of this magnificent breed.

The Marine Corps had the first large dog unit in the nation’s history consisting of German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and Doberman Pinschers. These Marine dogs were called the “Devil Dogs,” a name earned by the Marines during WWI. Twenty-one of the 24 dogs in the first Marine Dog Platoon were Doberman Pinschers. The war dogs stood guard over camps, delivered messages, alerted the Marines to landmines and traps, rescued wounded Marines and searched through caves looking for soldiers and supplies. It was noted that no Marine was killed while in a patrol led by a dog.

These “Devil Dogs” made the ultimate sacrifice. They lead over 550 patrols, and sadly, several died during their service there. Some of the other Devil Dogs who survived were actually adopted by their handlers after the war.

The loyalty and devotion of these courageous dogs has remain unchanged over the years. One of the many reasons we love our Dobermans!

Today is "National Lost Dog Awareness Day". Despite the fact that many dogs do live in loving homes, they are naturally curious and sometimes like to create their own adventures by escaping into the free world.

Although we all know accidents do occur, we want to share some tips for preventing these by keeping your dog safe and secure:
~ Keep them in a fenced in yard while outside and ensure all areas of the fence are in good condition, leaving no areas to escape. Make sure all latches and gate entries are secured in a manner to prevent your dog from being able to open them (we all know they are smart and can be crafty ~ AKA LilHoudini's).
~ If you do not have a fenced in yard, a tie out can be used, but please make sure you are using one with the appropriate weight limit.
~ Keep an eye on your pups at all times when outside. It truly only takes a second for them to get themselves into mischief!
~ Use a secure leash when walking your pups (NOT retractable leashes). Martingale collars are also recommended.
~ Make sure you close your doors completely when exiting your home, and taking precautions when entering or allowing guests in. Additionally, teach any children in the home the importance of proper safety measures. They will love to have an important role!
~ Obedience training is a great tool in communicating with your dog to have them stop on command, come to you, etc.

We also recommend getting your dog mirochipped and registered, and making sure your contact information is always current.
A current ID tag is also beneficial if your dog gets lost while wearing their collar.
Most of us keep our phones loaded with pics of our furbabies, which is also helpful as current photos are beneficial if your pup takes a solo adventure.

Dogs count on us to keep them safe, and we owe them the same love and devotion they give!!

🙏 #FosterFriday Emergency Appeal 🐾

Our hearts are heavy as we share Chica's story. This brave 5-month-old all-natural Red Female came to us scared and thin, rescued from a shelter. Little did we know, Chica was battling the deadly Parvo virus. She's fighting for her life at the emergency vet, where every moment counts.

Chica's estimated medical expenses range from $4000 to $9000, depending on her response to treatment. It's a hefty sum, but every dollar could mean a chance for her to pull through.

At just 5 months old, Chica never had the chance for vaccinations that could have prevented this ordeal. Now, she needs all the help she can get to make it through this critical time.

If you can spare anything to help Chica in her fight against Parvo, please consider donating at www.dudobes.org. Your support means the world to us and to Chica. Together, we can give her the fighting chance she deserves.

Please keep Chica in your thoughts and prayers as she battles this illness. We'll keep you updated on her progress. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. 🙏🐾 #HelpChica #EmergencyAppeal #ParvoFighter

Fostering can be such a rewarding experience, here is an update from one of our newer foster homes that is currently fostering Ken our 14 month old Doberman.

"The daily chronicles of Ken continue.... today Kenny met a few new friends who all instaneously fell in love with him! He continues to amaze us with his calm, laid back demeanor - almost unheard of with a 14 month old Doberman pup! He loves to play and engages in play with Chris really well. Training continues and so much progress has been made with leave it, drop it, and give. Even reacting to tv commercials is getting better. I cannot wait to teach him give paw and high five😊 He really is helping us heal a little more each day and I am so thankful we were chosen to foster him."

Foster, adopt whatever it may be having a Doberman in your life is healing. So many of us have touched Ken in his healing process from almost dying from Parvo to training and learning to live in a home to his journey now of an adolescent Doberman. Hopefully the final step is coming soon for Ken to have a forever family.
