You can make a HUGE difference in the life of a dog in need by fostering. Doberman Underground provides the dog, you provide the love.
Doberman Underground provides food, pay all vet bills, provide crates and toys. All that you have to do is take the animal into your home, provide loving care, transportation for vet care and attend events.
All of our dogs are are placed with foster homes until we are able to find them their forever home. Fostering allows us to learn about the dog and enables us to better match and place the dog in a loving forever home. During the time the dog is with you, together we help advertise them at events, on our website, and through social media in order to find a loving forever home.
Fostering a dog can be a very rewarding experience. Fostering a dog is the first and most important step in giving them chance for a better life. Most of these pets have been homeless and and may have suffered from abuse and neglect. And in most cases the fist time the dog has ever felt love and kindness.
Since we cannot anticipate when your foster dog will find it’s forever home we ask that the foster commits to caring for their foster dog until they find their forever home.
Fostering is not without challenges, but Doberman Underground will be there to help guide and support you through any issues you may encounter. We are available to our fosters 24 hours a day!
If you have been considering adopting a dog, but are not ready to make that commitment, then fostering is the perfect option for you. You will help save a dog, have a great time, meet the best group of Volunteers ever and get that warm fuzzy feeling knowing you made a difference in a dog’s life and the family that adopts them. Peanut is a sweet 18 month old dobie mix. She was surrendered to a shelter in the south that was beyond full. Pregnant and homeless, the shelter reached out to us and then it was Doberman Underground to the rescue! Peanut had 4 sweet puppies that have all been adopted. Now it's time for this momma to pick her own forever home.
Peanut is a medium-sized girl, about 45 pounds. She may have some herding breed in her, as she really likes to round things up. She's good with other dogs, but needs a warming up period. She is possessive of her food. This sweet girl is timid, but not fearful, of sudden movements. She's a bit of an escape artist, so she'll need a physical fence to keep her safe in the yard.
Peanut's foster mom says she is a joy to be around! When she talks to her and gets her excited, she's extremely happy and playful. She loves humans and wants to be with them always. Peanut hates to be crated. She does like to re-decorate things when left alone. She doesn't destroy them, she just likes to move things around like blankets and towels.
Peanut will do well with kids, as long as they don't mind being herded. She is okay with cats. She knows the sit command and is ready and willing to learn more! If you are looking for a sweet, playful girl, Peanut is the one for you. Apply today! www.DUdobes.org
