Seniors Owning Seniors Adoption Program
Seniors Owning Seniors (SOS) matches senior adopters (70+) with senior dogs (7+). This program is designed for seniors that have experience owning Dobermans but may no longer be able to afford the expense of owning a senior dog on a fixed income. The SOS program takes care of the cost of medications, prescription foods, heartworm prevention, and annual vet visits. Additional expenses may be submitted to be considered for reimbursement. SOS benefits both the adopters and the dogs, as they will provide companionship, love, and caregiving to each other!
Our senior dogs may face many of the same medical situations as their senior owners. At some point, they will likely require ongoing medications, prescription foods, and possibly surgical procedures. These medical needs can get expensive. Doberman Underground is dedicated to giving our senior dogs the best quality of life for their remaining years. Your donations will allow us to cover the medical expenses these dogs will incur so their senior owners won’t have to worry about anything beyond providing a loving home for the dogs.
Success Stories
Today we celebrate Baron’s adoption! Baron is roughly 8 years old and someone left him on the side of the road and he laid there until a bystander came by and picked him up. After going through Heartworm treatments Baron has now moved into his forever home and family. He now has a new name Shadow, because he is their Shadow.

Reagan has been a part of our rescue for many months and all of our followers have been on this journey alongside us.
Reagan came to us with her leg chewed off (by her) to free herself from a trap in the woods. She was Heartworm positive, had a mass on her stomach, a missing leg, and teeth damaged from chewing through the trap and her leg. It has been a long journey to get Reagan to this point of looking for her forever family. We are happy to report she not only found her King 🤴🏻, but she will be the Queen in her home and this girl deserves that type of treatment.
Reagan (7 years old) and her adopter (over 70 years old) are joining our SOS Program (Seniors Owning Seniors) and will benefit from a lifetime of support from Doberman Underground. This includes medications, annual vet visits, Heartworm prevention, and support on other medical needs for the rest of her life.
We want to send a special thank you to all of you that helped with Reagan’s medical expenses and believed in Reagan as much as we did. Dogs like Reagan are what make every day of what we do worth it.

Our 10 year old foster dog Kato, has found his forever home with a wonderful Senior family. Kato was dumped at the shelter as if he didn’t matter. Well he matters to us and now he matters to his family.
As part of our SOS program, we help to connect Seniors (over age 70) with a Senior dog (over age 7). They pay a reduced adoption fee, have medication covered, including Heartworm prevention, annual vetting and assistance on other medical needs; this makes an amazing life for everyone.
Welcome home Kato
